I'm most useful in ambiguity: a problem no one's fully defined yet, a system with too many moving parts, a team that needs someone to go talk to the actual people affected. I care less about polish for its own sake and more about whether the thing we built actually changed something for someone.
Nothing sits in isolation for me. Not a tool, not a moment, not a person. I notice most things people scroll past: the small hesitation, the workaround someone's quietly built around a broken step, the thing a person shows you but never quite says out loud.
I don't start with screens. I start by understanding what's actually broken, for whom, and why it hasn't been solved yet through interviews, field visits, workshops, and a fair amount of asking "why" more times than feels comfortable.
From there I work in close, fast loops with the people building the thing and the people using it. The strongest work I've done has come from staying in the room through the messy middle, not just showing up for the polished reveal.
